Served and Slept in the LORD

Date: 20.10.2024

Mrs Mary Dheenal was born on 6th October 1977, as the elder one with six younger siblings. She married her uncle and was blessed with 2 children. Elder son J. Fridjith completed B. Sc, Nursing in 2024, joined for job in Ramakrishna Hospital, Coimbatore. Her younger son J. Jeffrine is a differently abled boy with speech and hearing impairment. Her husband was a tailor, couldn’t continue his profession due to sudden left eye blindness. He was under medication for diabetes also, has a strong addiction to alcohol. Currently he is a watchman in a private hotel, Kodaikanal. Her life was always under a single room of 8*6 feet with mud floor and tin roof, no water facilities. This gives an absolute picture of a stagnant family.

On 6th October 2005 she was joined in Bethania as a Tutor till this month 16th October 2024, total 19-year service (17 years in CSI After School Care + 2 years at Nathanael Day Care Centre) in Bethania.

She prepares perfect teaching aids that I would want to mention is that although having a lot of weakness in her body and handling the family as a single woman (not gets much support from her husband) she never shows a sign of it when it comes to work place one more fascinating thing is that she never forgets to smile.

She was well co-operative with the co-workers, responsible and maintained efficiency.  She loves to be a part of Bethania, this helped her maintain good relationships, look after her parents and she was well known for her character among community members.

Unfortunately, she had kidney issues and underwent dialysis for the past 19 years. Struggled lot for financial needs, borrowed money from different self-help teams for her son’s education.

One of our staff, Mrs Valliammal says, "Mrs. Mary Deenal worked with me who had the habit of early morning prayer, (a good prayer warrior). Moreover, I have also seen her During the Capacity Building Program, praying relentlessly and meditating the word of God before any could wakes up, additionally one of her beautiful prayer notes is also for Bethania. She puts her maximum strength and effort at workplace leading a balanced job and family. I feel this is great loss for all of us and Bethania.
