The Bethania Foundation India TM serves nearly 1000 impoverished children, women, and families through ministry sites in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha in South India. Our ministries include

Nurturing and Equipping God’s Children

In the Gospel of Luke, Luke 2:52, we learn “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, in favor with God and men.” The Bethania Foundation India TM takes this model very seriously, focusing on a holistic approach to child development based on the dimensions spelled out in this scripture passage:

  • Wisdom: intellectual growth
  • Stature: physical growth
  • In favor with God: spiritual growth
  • And of man :social growth

This is The Bethania Foundation India TM

The Bethania Foundation India TM was founded in 1987 as a Christian ministry to provide a home for nine orphaned children in Kannavadi, Tamil Nadu, South India. Since then, the Bethania Foundation has grown to serve nearly 1000 impoverished children, women and families in 15 separate sites: four residential homes (2 for girls and 2 for boys) in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh; nine care centres providing day care and after school care in Tamil Nadu and tribal areas of Odisha; two centres to meet the needs of differently-abled children; and, six Women’s Empowerment Programs where women learn skills to enable them to support their families. The The Bethania Foundation India TM staff in each home, care centre, and program are committed to providing top-quality and individualized care for every person served while assuring them of God’s unconditional love for each of them.

During Jesus’ ministry here on earth, he reached out especially to those with physical and mental challenges, valuing their lives as children of God. The Bethania Foundation India TM has taken to heart Jesus’ direction to care for those differently-abled in two rehabilitation centres, giving those who attend purpose in their lives and value in their communities.

Children who attend the Poombarai Special School and the CSI Rehabilitation & Training Centre live with a variety of differing abilities, such as cerebral palsy, deafness, mental challenges and others. Such children are often ignored or ostracized within their families and communities. The The Bethania Foundation India TM staff are kind and gentle teachers, offering very real examples of God’s love for each child and teaching them to be independent and productive members of the community. We give thanks daily for both our staff and the differently-abled children they serve.
